Process & Logistics & Packaging

Bluerox 40S can be used for elastomer crosslinking at moderate temperatures, with a typical crosslinking temperature of 150°C. It is also suitable for applications requiring higher performance, such as serving as a crosslinking agent for ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) films in photovoltaic systems. For styrene polymerization: within the range of 100–130°C, Bluerox 40S acts as an initiator for both styrene polymerization and copolymerization. In bulk polymerization processes, its use significantly enhances the reaction rate; in suspension polymerization, it effectively reduces residual styrene content in the final product. In thermosetting resin applications, Bluerox 40S—also known as tert-butyl peroxycarbonyl peroxide or aliphatic peroxide—functions as a high-temperature curing agent for unsaturated polyester resins. It is particularly well-suited for thermoplastic molding of unsaturated polyester resins (e.g., SMC, BMC, ZMC) at temperatures ranging from 120 to 170°C.Bluerox 40S is particularly recommended for SMC/BMC products used in automotive interior components. During the curing reaction, Bluerox 40S produces volatile decomposition products similar to those of Bluerox 60 tert-butyl benzoate peroxide, but does not generate benzene.
